How much change (random denominations) can a glass 5-gallon Sparklets Bottle hold? What is the Est. $ Value?

How much change (in $ prediction) can a glass 5-gallon Sparklets Bottle hold?

I have an old arrowhead/sparklets glass water bottle filled with change. The change is in completely random denominations. We are taking guesses how much each bottle contains. Anyone have an opinion? Or real-life experience to help get a quality on the value of the contents. Please share!|||Here is a good way to estimate:

Weigh the bottle on a bathroom scale. If you have an empty bottle, then weigh it also, and subtract the weight of the empty from that of the full one. Otherwise, you%26#039;ll have to estimate the weight of an empty bottle (one pound?) and subtract it.

Now you have the total weight of the coins. Let%26#039;s call it TW for Total Weight.

Grab a handful of coins from the bottle and weigh them on a scale that has better resolution, such as a cooking or postage scale. Call this weight HW for Handful Weight.

Count the amount of money in the handful. Call this amount HV for Handful Value.

Now all you need to know is the number of handfuls in the bottle. You get this by dividing TW by HW. Call the result NH, or Number of Handfuls.

Now you know the number of handfuls and the value of each. To get the total value of change in the bottle, multiply NH by HV.

Best of success. And don%26#039;t spend it all in one place!|||I just recently cashed out about 2%26quot; worth. I found it to be about $100 per inch of depth. I try not to throw pennies in there but my kids do. I also had paper money though, too.
