Can someone helpme correct this?

In this article there are a lot of symbols. Hermanson connects the summer 1922, which is the time of the story with the summer before

Gatsby went to war five years ago. He affirms, “It is a metaphor for the blooming and blasting of love and of hope”. He also characterizes the use of light and dark description as emotional states. The song played by Mr. Klipspringer on Gatsby's piano “In the meantime / In between time / Ain't we got fun” symbolize the time change; the change is either the transformation between Daisy and Gatsby or the deep changes after World War One.

I can only hope that English is not your first language. There is no fixing this garbage. If I were your teacher, you would fail. Totally incomprehensible.
Don't use a lot my teacher took of points for weak words. The second sentence should have something to do with symbols. Give examples and then move on to the characterizing sentence and use examples for that. Don't jump all over stick to one idea and then move to the next but make sure its smooth. not: 'this happened and everything was great. Then he also built a bridge.' I'm not fixing it because even though I write well enough to get me A's most of the time I have crap grammer.
