Smart chemists only ! More details are explained below.?

80 ml of water is in a styrofoam cup.

8 grams was added to the cup.

what is the mass of the solution ?

also using the formula Heat evolved = mass of water x specific heat capacity of water x ? t

? H (joules) = m x c ? t (c = 4.2 J/g/oC )

what is the heat change ?

the change in temperature is 7 degrees Celsius.

it sounds like you added 8 grams of something to water that was in a styrafoam cup

like adding 8 gams of NaOH to say 100 ml of water

to answer your questions, we need to know the amount of water that was in the cup...

email me from my avatar , %26amp; I will get back to you

======================================…

if for some reason the water was 8 grams

then

? H (joules) = m x c ? t (c = 4.2 J/g/oC )

? H (joules) = (8g) x (4.2) (7 C)

dH = 235.2 joules
